Mp3 Tutorial 1
This section is devoted do describe exactly what on earth Mp3 is and how to use as well as make them. Really theres three parts to this tutorial "Listening", "getting some mp3" and "Making mp3". Well, lets begin.
First of all, what is an Mp3?
Mp3 is Full digital Audio (CD quality Audio) that is recorded digitally directly from CD's onto computers. It is then compressed using a method called "mpeg" until a 4 minute song is about 3-4 megabytes. Not too shabby. Mp3's quality is so good, that if you have a recordable cd rom, you can make your own cd's out of mp3. Anyway, now you know what Mp3 is, we can go over how to play it
First of all you need a program Called Winamp. Winamp is the player that everyone uses to play their files. Its made for Windows95 and works on Windows98 too. I believe it will work on Windows NT as well.
Anyway, its time to get Winamp!!!!

Theres two ways to get Winamp.
1. Direct Download - Click here to automatically Download Winamp (suggested)
2. http://www.winamp.com - The official Winamp Homepage. Look Around the page for a few minutes and go to download section.
If you use windows 3.1, get this file instead : winplay3.zip
Now install Winamp. (run the executable)
It will say something like "you must register after 14 days." Just ignore it. It'll be okay.
Now you'll see a screen like this:

Choose "Unzip". And let it do its thing.
You'll see an information screen next, read it if you want, or skip it.
Now when you come to this screen (For Future Reference this is located on Options>>prefrences):

Click on "Register File Types", "Add Start Menu Items" and "Add Desktop Icon".
Now Click on "Apply".
Now Click "OK"
and you'll get a screen like this:

Now See that little icon in the top left corner? ![]()
Click on it, and you'll get this:

Click on "play file" and select the mp3 file that you have to play. All of a sudden, you have MUSIC!
This concludes Part One of the Mp3 Tutorial. (Getting the .mp3 files is up to you, and will be discussed in part 2. If you know me just ask me for some.)
